School meals consultancy

Head Teachers and Governors have a responsbility to ensure that the catering service in their school, whether in house or contracted out, is operating legally, safely and within strict guidelines.  With the arrival of the school meals and nutritional standards, this area has never been of such importance, especially as catering now also forms part of the OfSTED inspection.

Our senior and lead consultant both have extensive catering experience and more specifically, have previously been working at senior levels within school catering providers and therefore have an intimate knowledge of the school food trust, school meals and nutritional standards.

We are pleased to offer a consultancy service primarily designed to provide governors and head teachers with a details report highlighting the level of compliance of their school meals with the school food trust/DCSF meals criteria.  This measures nutritional standards, meal content, food composition, portion sizes and foods available.

If required, we can also at the same time carryout a hygiene compliance audit to monitor the effectiveness and compliance of the catering service with food safety standards, providing schools with the opportunity to address issues prior to the arrival of the environmental health officer!
